Webinar: Mapping Answers to Child Care Questions: Comparing Your Administrative Data with Other Data: A Webinar for Child Care Development Fund Lead Agencies

Publication Date: August 16, 2021

Introduction

Sharing maps of child care supply and demand with policy and program staff can help stimulate data-informed discussions about child care issues facing your state, territory, or tribal agency. This webinar is designed to support CCDF lead agency staff and partners in mapping access to care across their state or other region. The webinar covers (1) “Mapping 101,” a review of basic mapping terms, concepts, and resources; (2) a presentation from a research partner in Pennsylvania on mapping child care deserts; and (3) a presentation from CCDF Lead Agency staff in Wisconsin on mapping trends in provider locations across the state. Following the presentations, speakers address questions from the moderator and the audience.

This is the second in a series of webinars on Building Your Capacity as a CCDF Lead Agency to Use Data in Policy Decisions, hosted by the Center for Supporting Research on CCDBG Implementation with support from the Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation.

The speakers include:

  • Julia Isaacs, Director of the Center for Supporting Research on CCDBG Implementation and Senior Fellow, Urban Institute (panel moderator)
  • Erica Greenberg, Senior Research Associate, Urban Institute
  • Chad Dorn, Research and Policy Advisor, Propulsion Squared
  • Kathryn Pergande, Research Analyst, Wisconsin Department of Children and Families
