Early Childhood Secondary Data Analysis Project

2012-2017

The purpose of this project was to expand the knowledge base on early childhood development and programming by supporting secondary data analysis of archived datasets funded by the Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation (OPRE). Key project tasks included:

  • Conducting secondary analysis of archived datasets on topics relevant to OPRE and its program partners
  • Providing training, technical assistance, and resources to researchers interested in using archived datasets to address early childhood research topics

Several datasets were utilized for this project, including the Head Start Impact Study (HSIS), Head Start Family and Child Experience Study (FACES), Early Head Start Research and Evaluation Project (EHSREP), Early Head Start Family and Child Experience Study (Baby FACES), and Head Start Classroom‐based Approaches and Resources for Emotion and Social skill promotion (Head Start CARES).
