Introduction

Legal professionals who participate in child welfare court hearings can benefit from understanding how court practices and court system resources affect the judge’s decisions and the quality of the hearing. This brief highlights research that is starting to show how some court practices and court system resources relate to judicial decision-making and hearing quality in these cases. Gaps in the current research are also discussed.
