Introduction

The Migrant and Seasonal Head Start (MSHS) study is a nationally representative study of the MSHS programs. These programs served children age zero to five years whose families work primarily in agriculture. The study gathered surveys and interviews from program directors, center directors, teachers, assistant teachers and parents, and implemented direct observation of a sample of classrooms and direct assessments of a sample of children. This first brief provides an overview of the background, methods and research questions of the MSHS 2017 study.
