Introduction

The Family & Youth Services Bureau is sponsoring a federal evaluation  of the PREP program. The evaluation, which is carried out by Mathematica Policy Research and overseen by the Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation and the Office of Data Analysis, Research, and Evaluation, includes three separate components – a descriptive study, the collection of performance measure data, and an impact evaluation of selected PREP-funded sites.

As part of the impact evaluation, FYSB is testing four specific PREP-funded program models that serve special populations – males, rural youth, youth in alternative schools, and pregnant and parenting adolescents – in order to improve our understanding of what works to reduce teen pregnancy among these populations.

This report (PDF) describes the overall goals of the study, explains how sites were selected, and provides an overview of the four sites.
