When programs apply for FYSB funding, they must show how they will serve LGBTQ youth needs in their program design. This includes creating an inclusive environment and establishing and publicizing policies that prohibit harassment based on race, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity (or expression), religion, and national origin.

FYSB’s information resource, the National Clearinghouse on Homeless Youth and Families, also offers an assortment of publications and resources that help family and youth workers better understand the needs of LGBTQ young people and how they can go about making their programs more LGBTQ-friendly.

Several of FYSB's APP grantees have submitted questions related to flexibilities in programming, data collection, and the use of federal awarded funds in light of the COVID-19 situation. To address APP grantees' specific programmatic questions and concerns, FYSB has provided responses to several frequently asked questions.

FYSB’s National Clearinghouse on Homeless Youth and Families maintains an online list of Funding Opportunities from federal agencies, private foundations and corporations. The National Resource Center on Domestic Violence publishes a bi-weekly Funding Alert. Subscribe to the alert through their website.
